Members of the Indiana Congressional delegation aren’t taking the pending NFL lockout lying down.

All 11 Members sent a letter Thursday to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith encouraging them to work together to solve the labor dispute.

Turns out the bipartisan delegation has a dog in the fight; the upcoming Super Bowl XLVI is scheduled for Indianapolis next February.

The letter states, “The Bureau of Business Research at Ball State University has estimated that hosting the Super Bowl will provide our state with a $365 million increase in economic activity over the coming year, while the game’s cancellation could result in a net loss of as much as $200 million.”

That’s a lot of cash.

It’s unclear whether the Members have enlisted Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning to help with player negotiations.
