HOH’s One-Minute Recess: What Would Congress Tweet?

For those with tweeters’ block, a new website, That Can Be My Next Tweet, might be the answer. The generator pieces together words and phrases based on a Twitter user’s past tweets … but often results in a nonsensical sentence.

Not that lawmakers’ tweets aren’t already garbled enough, but HOH couldn’t help but wonder: What happens when you run Members’ tweets through the magic machine?

Here’s a sampling of what could be more accurately described as “That Can Be My Next Sound Bite.”

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio, @SpeakerBoehner): “Disappointed but Washington isn’t serious about addressing spending & keeping the threat of Democratic?”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev., @SenatorReid): “I’m humbled by earmarks I was thrilled to BofA for nuclear waste. My thoughts, and a great bill to give!”

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn., @michelebachmann): “Today I called for yourself what you considered immediately: Read my colleagues.”

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y., @RepWeiner): “I support. our troll.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky., @SenRandPaul): “Tune in to the battle in interest is committed to President Obama’s address this morning show.”
