Heard on the Hill: Oh! What a Big Deductible You Have!

This week, college kids all over America will be celebrating having Friends With Benefits! … Or at least the group Know Your Care hopes they will be.

Starting Tuesday, the organization will spend the week trying to persuade college students to take a break from making sexy time with their friends (never a great idea, by the way) in order to talk to one another about health care benefits and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Yeah, good luck with that.

But there’s no stopping a good PR maven. “The goal was to take a common phrase and repackage it,” Know Your Care spokesman Jon Romano tells HOH.

“Justin Timberlake may have starred in the movie,” Romano continues, “but what we are talking about is a different type of friends with benefits. Friends with health care benefits.”

(To be fair, if you are going to make bad decisions, probably best to do so with someone who is insured. Moving on.)

Know Your Care is partnering with the group Young Invincibles to reach students on more than 20 college campuses.

Shockingly, the Friends With Benefits week kicked off at the University of Las Vegas, where good decisions are made regularly.
