Ian Blue has been promoted to legislative aide for Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif. Blue was a legislative correspondent. He also has served as a staff assistant. He worked as vice president of College Democrats of America. He also served as director of digital outreach and research at Message-Global. He was communications director for campus democrats at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Joel Parriott has been hired as director of public policy at the American Astronomical Society. Parriott works in the White House as a program examiner in the Office of Management and Budget. He has served on the staff of the National Research Council’s board on physics and astronomy.

Marillyn A. Hewson has been elected president and chief operating officer of defense technology company Lockheed Martin. Hewson is the executive vice president of the company’s electronic Systems business area. She is the chairwoman of the Sandia Corp. board of directors. She also is a member of the Association of the United States Army Council of Trustees.

Wayne Stanley has been appointed manager of external communications at the American Land Title Association. Stanley was a press secretary for Sen. Richard G. Lugar, R-Ind. He has worked as a deputy political director for Friends of Dick Lugar, a campaign committee. He also has worked for Lugar as a deputy press secretary.

Steve Marino has been hired as chief operating officer at agencyQ, a digital media agency. Marino was the North American director of digital and social media for MSL Group, a public relations company. He has worked as a senior vice president at Oglivy Public Relations Worldwide.

Rebecca Adler has been hired as senior director of communications for the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers. Adler has worked as chief of consumer affairs for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Allyson Robinson has been appointed executive director of OutServe-SLDN, the association of actively-serving LGBT military personnel. She has been serving as workplace project deputy director for learning and development at the Human Rights Campaign. Robinson also has served as associate director of diversity at HRC.

Derede McAlpin has been hired as vice president and chief communications officer at the Association of Corporate Counsel. McAlpin was vice president at Levick Strategic Communications. She also served as judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Steve Odland has been hired president and CEO of the Committee for Economic Development. Odland was an adjunct professor in the graduate schools of business at Florida Atlantic University and Lynn University. He also served as chairman and CEO of Office Depot. He was chairman, president and CEO of Top Markets Inc. He also worked as chairman of the Business Roundtable’s corporate governance task force. He also was a U.S. presidential appointee as a commissioner on the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission.

Bob Brinkmann has been hired as an attorney at Ford and Huff. He was an attorney for his own law practice. He also worked as a partner at Olive, Edwards & Brinkmann. He worked as vice president and counsel of state and postal affairs at the Newspaper Association of America. He also was general counsel at National Newspaper Association. He was associate attorney at Hedrick and Lane.

Art Sackler has been hired as counsel at Ford and Huff. Sackler is also coordinator for the Coaliation for a 21st Century Postal Service and executive director of the National Postal Policy Council. He also worked as principal at Sackler Policy Services. He served as executive director at the Interactive Travel Services Association. He was vice president of law and public policy at Time Warner Inc.

David C. Colby has been appointed vice president of public policy at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He was the leader of the organization’s research and evaluation efforts. He also has served as a senior program officer and deputy director of its health care group. He worked as a Robert Wood Johnson faculty fellow in health care finance at the Congressional Budget Office. He also was deputy director at the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission.
