She has worked as chief of staff for Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn. She also has worked for former Reps. Carrie P. Meek, D-Fla., and Albert R. Wynn, D-Md.

Laura Abshire has been named director of sustainability policy and government affairs at the National Restaurant Association, a trade group. Abshire was the deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark. She also has worked as a legislative assistant for Ross.

Ryan Kearney has been named labor and workforce policy manager at the National Restaurant Association. Kearney was a senior legislative assistant for the Republican staff of the House Education and the Workforce Committee. He also worked as a staff assistant in the labor, immigration and employee benefits division at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Dana Halvorson has been hired as director of not for profit and constituent services at the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living. Halvorson was a congressional affairs associate at the American College of Surgeons. She has worked as a senior health policy adviser and intern manager for Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D.

Ike Brannon has been named senior fellow and director of research at the R Street Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank. Brannon was the director of economic policy and director of congressional affairs at conservative-leaning think tank the American Action Forum. He has worked as chief economist to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He also has worked as senior tax policy adviser at the Treasury Department under President George W. Bush.

Susan A. Mathews has been hired as senior director of securities compliance at Treliant Risk Advisors. Mathews has been compliance counsel at Integrity Research Compliance and principal at Madigail Consulting. She was senior counsel in the enforcement division at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She was litigation associate at Fields & Director.

Paige Anderson has been hired as director of government relations at the National Association of Convenience Stores. Anderson was deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Calif. She also has worked as legislative director to Rep. Paul Brown, R-Ga. She was legislative director to Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. She also has served as senior legislative assistant for Rep. Brian P. Bilbray, R-Calif. She was senior legislative assistant to Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Calif.

Ashley Lantz has been hired as a policy adviser at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. Lantz was legislative aide and worked on special projects for Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va. She also has worked as of counsel to Nelson Mullins in a West Virginia office. She was manager of communications and marketing at Vandalia Heritage Foundation.

Sonia Ramirez has been promoted to director of government affairs at the Building and Construction Trades Department. Ramirez was deputy director of government affairs. She also was a government relations representative and chief immigration lobbyist for AFL-CIO.

Andrew “Drew” Smith has been hired as an associate and member of the business and real estate practice group at Offit Kurman. Smith was director of marketing/contract adviser for Goal Line Football Management.
