Tom Hassenboehler has been hired as chief counsel for the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power. He was vice president of policy development and legislative affairs at America’s Natural Gas Alliance. He worked as counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. He also served as counsel and a staff member for the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He was legislative assistant to former Rep. Billy Tauzin, R-La.

Heather White has been named executive director at Environmental Working Group. White was its chief of staff and general counsel. She also has served as director of education advocacy for the National Wildlife Federation. She also worked as EWG’s general counsel. She also was general counsel to former Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis. She was a recount attorney to Al Gore’s vice presidential campaign and also served as deputy director of women’s outreach for that campaign. She was an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims in Tennessee.

Laura Christof has been promoted to account coordinator at Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications. Christof was a government relations intern at Rasky Baerlein. She also has worked as a government and public affairs intern at R&R Partners. She was an intern for Martha’s Table, a nonprofit organization in Washington.

William Smith has been promoted to account coordinator at Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications. Smith was a government relations intern. He also served as an intern at Paine College in Georgia.

Christopher A. Cole has been hired as a partner and co-chairman of the advertising and product risk management group at Crowell & Moring. He was the advertising litigation practice chairman at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, a law and lobbying firm.

Janya Athas has been hired as an associate in the public affairs division. Athas has worked in international security and aviation at UPS Corporate Public Affairs. Athas has also worked as an assistant at law and lobbying firm Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld and has worked as a legislative fellow at Axela Government Relations.

Alex Mitchell has been hired as a project associate in the communications and media division. Mitchell was a public affairs intern at communications firm VOX Global. He has worked as a research intern at The MASY Group. He also has worked as a research assistant at Bucknell University.

Josh Levitt has been promoted to associate. Levitt was a project associate. He has worked as director of American University’s Kennedy Political Union.

Timothy Belcher has been promoted to associate at Dewberry. Belcher was a project manager in Belcher’s transportation group. He also is the secretary for the Potomac section of the American Society of Highway Engineers.
