Jane Campbell has been named staff director for the majority staff for the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. She was chief of staff to Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, D-La. She also has served as president of the National Conference of State Legislatures. She worked as a county commissioner in Ohio. She also served as mayor of Cleveland. She was a John F. Kennedy fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. She was managing director of public sector solutions at Colliers Ostendorf Morris.

Don Cravins Jr. has been promoted to chief of staff to Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, D-La. He was staff director and chief counsel of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. He also served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and Senate. He worked as deputy campaign manager to former Sen. John B. Breaux, D-La.

Steve Wildman has been appointed chief economist at the Federal Communications Commission. He is currently working as the acting chairman of the telecommunication, information studies and media department at Michigan State University. He also has worked as associate professor in the department of communication studies at Northwestern University.

Tharon Johnson has been hired as a managing director at international law firm McKenna Long & Aldridge. He was national southern regional director for the 2012 Obama campaign. Johnson also has worked as a senior adviser to Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. He was a senior strategist and campaign manager for Reed’s 2009 race for mayor. He also has served as campaign manager to Reps. John Lewis and John Barrow, both Georgia Democrats, and Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond. He also served as deputy chief of staff to Barrow and worked as district director for Lewis.

Chris Brescia has been named chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers’ National Public Affairs Steering Committee. Bresica also serves as vice president of government affairs at RockTenn. He also has worked as vice president of government affairs at Smurfit Stone Container Corp. He also worked as president of the Midwest Area River Coalition 2000. He was a senior manager at Price Waterhouse. He was a staff member for the Senate Select Committee on Small Business.

Marc Steven Scarduffa has been named vice chairman of the NPASC. He also works as vice president of U.S. government relations and public affairs at Pfizer Inc.

Omar Franco has been elected president of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association. Franco is the managing director of law and lobbying firm Becker & Poliakoff’s Washington office. He has served as chief of staff to Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla. He has also worked as assistant vice president of government relations at the University of Miami and as director of government relations for the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Rufina Hernandez has been named executive director for the Campaign for High School Equity. Hernandez was the associate director of external partnerships and advocacy at the National Education Association. She has worked at the NEA as director of the human and civil rights department. She also has worked as executive director of the Latin American Research and Service Agency.

Michael E. Rhein has been promoted to president and CEO of the Institute for Public Health Innovation. Rhein was a senior vice president. He has worked as vice president of programs for the National AIDS Fund. He also has worked as a senior vice president of CommonHealth ACTION.

Samantha Halpert has been promoted to vice president of legislation and health information technology at the Federation of American Hospitals. Halpert was vice president of quality and health information technology. She also has worked at the FAH as the director of health care policy and research. She also served as a health care aide and press secretary to Rep. Al Green, D-Texas.

Stephen Kranz has joined the state and local tax practice group at law and lobbying firm McDermott Will & Emery. Kranz was an attorney at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. He has worked as general counsel and tax counsel at the Council On State Taxation. He also has worked as a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s tax division.
