People on the Move: Feb. 26, 2013

Jeffrey Levensaler has been hired as deputy chief of staff to Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis. Levensaler was deputy chief of staff to Democratic Sens. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Frank R. Lautenberg of New Jersey and Paul D. Wellstone of Minnesota.

Scott Fulton has been hired as a principal and member of the environmental and natural resources practice at Beveridge & Diamond. He was EPA general counsel, and before that was acting deputy administrator and chief operating officer. He also has served as head of the office of international affairs at the EPA and as a judge on the Environmental Appeals Board. He also worked as assistant chief of the environmental enforcement section of the environment and natural resources division at the Justice Department under Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

Brian McHugh has been hired as vice president for program development and risk management at ManTech International Corp., a defense technology company. McHugh was associate executive assistant director of the FBI’s national security branch. He has served at the CIA as chief of station in the Middle East and in Europe. He also has worked at the Defense Department as an analyst and regional expert.

Kiran Rathod has been hired as chief technology officer at Paragon Technology Group, a government information technology company. Rathod was the chief information officer and a business partner at defense technology company Lockheed Martin. He has worked as director of radio frequency engineering and as a program manager at Engineering Networks International. He also has worked as a senior radio frequency engineer at AT&T Wireless.

Andrew de Vries has been named vice president of conservation, indigenous and government relations at the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. He was the chief biologist for the Forest Products Association of Canada. He also has worked as a wildlife biologist at Canfor, a wood and paper products company.

Simon Morris has been named vice president of the aviation practice at information technology company ICF International. Morris was a principal in the airport practice at A.T. Kearney, a consulting firm. He also has worked as a director for LeighFisher’s European airport practice.

Niloofar Razi Howe has been hired as chief strategy officer at Endgame Inc., a defense technology company. Howe was a managing director at investment firm Paladin Capital Group, where she will continue to serve as an operating partner.

Thomas J. Dawson III has been hired as a senior congressional lobbyist at the American Dental Association. He also is a managing partner at TD & P Consulting. He was senior health care counsel for the House Small Business Committee. He was executive director and adviser to the National Coalition of Healthcare Providers. He also served as a pension law specialist and health attorney at the Labor Department under President George W. Bush.

Megan Kueck has been hired as director of state government relations at the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association. Kueck was manager of external and government affairs at the Council on State Taxation. She worked as a legislative associate at Stateside Associates.

John Hasselman has been appointed vice president of government relations at the Association Connecting Electronic Industries. He was senior director of government relations at BSA The Software Alliance.
