Shutdown Puts Navy-Air Force Football in Jeopardy

CapitalGazette.com reports that “this Saturday’s sold-out Navy-Air Force game in Annapolis could be in jeopardy.”

“The Department of Defense has suspended all intercollegiate athletic competitions at its service academies as a result of the government shutdown, said Scott Strasemeier, Naval Academy associate athletic director.”

“Navy and Air Force have not canceled a football game scheduled for Saturday in Annapolis. But cancellation remains a possibility.”

“Strasemeier said the Naval Academy will tell fans whether the game will be played prior to Thursday at 12 p.m. He said any notification would be posted to www.NavySports.com.”
