Fundraising Puts Rep. Paul Ryan’s War Chest Over $4 Million

A national-wide direct mail fundraising for a former Vice Presidential candidate has helped increase the size of his 2014 campaign war chest to over $4 million.  

Ryan for Congress Inc., the campaign committee of Rep. Paul Ryan , R-Wis., has reported  receipts of $1,396,793 and disbursements of $595,991 during the first quarter of 2014, leaving $4,007,396 cash on hand as of March 31st, along with $79,548 in debts.  

The committee received $305,750 from PACs and other committees; $209,260 from joint fundraising committees; and $880,674 from over eight thousand individuals. Wisconsin contributors provided the most itemized individual contributions, with contributors in Florida, California, Illinois, Texas, and Virginia ranking next, among other states.  

The committee paid $252,831 to SCM Associates (NH) for direct mail; transferred $143,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee; among other expenses. The committee paid $44,130 to the Townsend Group for fundraising consulting an expenses, along with $10,000 to Mary Stitt.
