New campaign finance reports of incumbents and candidates for the most competitive and open-seat U.S. House races in 2014  show 39 candidates have war chests of over $1 million at the end of the first quarter of the year, including 11 who are not incumbents.  

Roll Call has produced quick reference chart  of this year’s first quarter receipts and expenditures for the major candidates in the 2014 most competitive and open-seat U.S. House races.  

In this group of races, the candidate with the largest war chest is Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., with $2,230,000.  

California’s 52nd District has three candidates with over $1 million in cash. Rep. Scott Peters, D-Calif., has $1,490,000. Carl DeMaio, R-Calif., has $1,254,000. Fred Simon, R-Calif., has $1,216,000.  

Colorado’s 6th District candidates have almost $4 million in cash. Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., has $1,845,000 and Andrew Romanoff, D-Colo., has $2,099,000.  

The figures are from the principal campaign committees and do not include the spending of outside organizations making independent expenditures or disbursements on issue advertisements.
