Chamber of Commerce Sends $100,000 to Pro-Cochran Super PAC

A Super PAC supporting Sen. Thad Cochran in the 2014 Mississippi Republican Primary has reported receiving $100,000 from the Chamber of Commerce of the U.S. The Mississippi Conservatives PAC  reported  receiving $164,150 and disbursing $61,213 from April 1st through May 14th, leaving $132,600 cash on hand as of May 30th, and $220,150 in debts owed.  

The major receipt was $100,000 from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce received on May 5th. During the period, the PAC paid the law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP $2,500 for attorney compliance. The committee also repaid $10,000 to Trustmark on a $250,150 loan it received in January. The PAC has $220,150 outstanding. The PAC has never disclosed the owner of a $250,000 certificate of deposit used to secure the loan.  

During the period the PAC spent $8,673 for a mail piece and postage as independent expenditures against Christopher McDaniel, R-Miss., the primary opponent of Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss.
