Mario Andretti Helps Senatorial Campaign Committee in Race for Funds

Each of the two Senatorial campaign committees is racing to build as large a war chest as possible for the 2014 general election. Race car driver Mario Andretti is helping.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee reported it had receipts of $6,043,424 and disbursements of $2,622,121 during April, leaving $19,289,665 cash on hand as of April 30th, with no debts. The committee received $1.4 million from contributors giving $200 or less, and received $3.8 million from those giving more. PACs and other committees gave 601,800.

Major donors giving $32,400 each included: David Koch (NY); Elizabeth Koch (KS); Anna Koch (KS); Donald Trump (NY); former Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr (IL); another former Treasury, Secretary Nicholas Brady (MD); C. Boyden Gray (DC); Joe Canizaro (LA); among others. Race car driver Mario Andretti (PA) gave $1,000.

The Democratic Senatorial Committee reported it had receipts of $6,333,998 and disbursements of $3,586,124 during April, leaving $24,969,459 cash on hand as of April 30th, and no debts. The committee received $2,5 million from contributors giving $200 or less, and $2.7 million from those giving more. PACs and other committees gave $697,500.

Donors included Fred Eychaner, president of Newsweb (IL) $32,400; and William H Gates III, co-chair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (WA); among others.
