No Pelosi-Boehner Conversations Yet on Syrian Refugees

At her weekly news conference Thursday House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Speaker John A. Boehner and her have not yet discussed the United States’ role accommodating mass numbers of Syrian refugees.“This is really important,” Pelosi said. “I think 5,000 is far too low a figure, but this is a subject we have to discuss.” Pelosi said fellow California Democrat and ranking member on the House Judiciary Immigration Subcommittee Zoe Lofgren was finalizing the details on legislation to address the issue, “a more ambitious approach where we increase the number of people coming into our country, therefore increasing the number of refugees coming into our country.”
