With a government shutdown looming, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid on the Senate floor Tuesday called for a “clean” funding bill, echoing remarks Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made to Politico on Friday, calling the fight to over Planned Parenthood funding an “ exercise in futility.” “I agree that any budget deal must be clean, that is no riders,” Reid said. “Nothing with Planned Parenthood, no repealing what the Environmental Protection Agency has done, no repealing what the Dodd-Frank put into effect.”
