U.S. Military to Use Robot Strategists in Combat

The Financial Times reports that “the US military intends to use artificial intelligence and advanced robotics to help soldiers make better decisions but robots will not fight on their own.”

“Military planners were looking to forge a collaboration between machines and humans that would allow quicker decision-making on the battlefield, said Robert Work, deputy secretary of defense.”

“The Pentagon was not trying to use a new wave of technological advances to create ‘Terminator’-style robot-soldiers, he said.”
