Former Ohio Congressman Del Latta Dies

Father of Rep. Bob Latta served 30 years in Congress

Delbert L. Latta, a former member of Congress for 30 years and the father of current Ohio Rep. Bob Latta died on Thursday. He was 96.  

Latta, known as Del, died of an extended illness at a nursing home in Bowling Green, Ohio.  

Latta was an Ohio state senator before launching a 15-term House career that ran from 1959 to 1989.  

Since 2001, Bob Latta has served the same congressional district that his father represented.
