Swalwell Mocks Trump’s ‘We Don’t Win Anymore’ With Olympic Tweet

United States won the Olympic medal count in Rio de Janeiro

As lawmakers took to Twitter Sunday and Monday to congratulate U.S. athletes for their success at the 2016 Olympic Games, Rep. Eric Swalwell used the opportunity to mock Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

“We don’t win anymore,” the California Democrat said as he retweeted a graphic from the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Organising Committee showing the final Olympic medal count.

The United States topped the table with a total of 121 medals — 46 gold, 37 silver and 38 bronze — far exceeding the medals won by any other country. China won a total of 70 medals, with its 26 gold falling one short of Great Britain, which won 27 gold and a total of 67 medals.

Trump has frequently said during his campaign that the United States doesn’t win anymore, most often in reference to global economic competition.
