Cruz Says He’ll Continue to Support Trump
Texas senator says despite differences, he'll back Republican nominee

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz continues to support Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, despite the leaked 2005 recording that showed Trump making lewd remarks about women.
Visiting a Mexican restaurant in Muleshoe, Texas, Cruz was asked by a local station about his thoughts on the current state of the presidential race, in light of the video revelation. He called the race “an election unlike any other,” and then immediately jumped to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, calling her “manifestly unfit to be president.”
“I’m supporting the Republican nominee because I think Hillary Clinton is an absolute disaster,” Cruz said. “My differences with Donald, I have articulated at great length throughout the campaign.”

Cruz was one of the last Republican holdouts against Trump, famously telling the Republican National Convention in July to “vote your conscience.” He finally endorsed Trump last month.
But in a Sunday tweet, Cruz criticized the media for not releasing the video recording sooner.
