Garrett Says He’s Running for Re-election in Winding Speech

Rep. Tom Garrett, R-Va., held a news conference Thursday after several reports earlier this week alleged the lawmaker may be considering resigning or retiring. Garrett spoke about several topics, including a Virginia woman’s international adoption, Sudanese prisoners, civil rights leader Barbara Johns and Thomas Jefferson, before also saying that he plans to stay in Congress.
