McConnell Cancels Recess, Schumer Says Democrats “Welcome” Extended Schedule

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday he was canceling most of the Senate’s August recess, citing “historic obstruction by Senate Democrats” of President Donald Trump’s federal nominees. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said his party welcomes the additional time.
