After multiple expletive-laden monologues in front of the press in which he referred to himself as “motherf—–,” claimed President Donald Trump “stopped the war” with North Korea, and hammered his fists emphatically on the famed Resolute Desk of the Oval Office, rapper Kanye West wheeled around to the other side of the desk and gave the president a hug.

“I love this guy right here,” he said Thursday, embracing Trump while wearing the president’s trademark red “Make America Great Again” ball cap.

“That’s really nice,” Trump said, beaming toward the cameras behind the right shoulder of the man they call Yeezus.

At a press conference before the pair broke for a private lunch, West praised Trump at length, touching on his handling of North Korea’s increasing nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile capabilities, his thoughts on gun control, his “love” for Hillary Clinton, and how “boring” school is.

West has received ample criticism from his fans for supporting a president who has become a fixture in highly critical lyrics, public comments, and diss tracks from other rappers such as Eminem, YG, G-Eazy, and the late Mac Miller.

“They tried to scare me, my friends, to not wear this hat, but this hat, it gives me power in a way,” West said of the red MAGA hat he wore to the meeting.

“When I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman — my favorite superhero. You made a Superman cape for me,” he said. 

Asked by a reporter for his opinions on gun control, West, who is from Chicago, a city with one of the highest violent crime rates in the country, responded candidly.

“Illegal guns is the problem, not legal guns,” West said. “We have the right to bear arms.”

After one of West’s 10-minute sermon-style speeches, the president took over, complimenting the rapper for being a “smart cookie.”

“I tell you what, that was pretty impressive,” Trump said of West’s speech. “That was quite something.”

“It was from the soul. I just channeled it,” West said.

West indicated that Trump has “solved” the U.S.-North Korea relationship and said the president “stopped the war” with the communist nation.

The U.S. and North Korea have held an uneasy armistice since 1953, with Trump and North Korean President Kim Jong Un lobbing threats of nuclear annihilation back and forth against each other last summer. No formal end to hostilities between the two nations has been reached.

West told reporters at the Oval Office he loves Clinton.

“I love everyone, right,” he said.

But he did not identify with her campaign slogan, “I’m With Her,” because it “just didn’t make me feel, as a guy that didn’t get to see my dad all the time, like a guy that could play catch with his son,” West said.

West’s mother and father separated when he was young, so he didn’t have a lot of “male energy” in the home growing up, he said Thursday.

Fans have long speculated that West would run for president in 2020, but he appeared to throw cold water on that notion for now.

“Only after 2024,” West said.
