Trump Says Elizabeth Warren’s DNA Test Is ‘Bogus’
President unleashes invective on Democratic senator who might be 2020 opponent
The DNA test released by Sen. Elizabeth Warren showing a distant Native American ancestor is “bogus,” President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday as his feud with the Massachusetts Democrat escalated.
Warren on Monday made public the results of a DNA test conducted by a Stanford University expert she says supports her claims of Native American ancestry. Other experts had questioned her claim, and Trump said he would donate $1 million to charity if it was proved true.
“Pocahontas (the bad version), sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Warren, is getting slammed,” the president tweeted, using his derisive nickname for Warren.
“She took a bogus DNA test and it showed that she may be 1/1024, far less than the average American. Now Cherokee Nation denies her, ‘DNA test is useless,’” he wrote. “Even they don’t want her. Phony!”
In another tweet, Trump called her ancestry claims now, based on her own test, “a scam and a lie,” adding she should “apologize for perpetrating this fraud against the American Public.”

Now that her claims of being of Indian heritage have turned out to be a scam and a lie, Elizabeth Warren should apologize for perpetrating this fraud against the American Public. Harvard called her “a person of color” (amazing con), and would not have taken her otherwise!

Thank you to the Cherokee Nation for revealing that Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, is a complete and total Fraud!

Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor, concluded Warren is 1/32nd-1/1,204th Native. Trump provided no scientific evidence showing the Stanford expert administered a “bogus” test.
Trump on Monday sidestepped the $1 million pledge, saying if she is his Democratic foe in 2020, he wants to personally test her DNA.
Cherokee leaders called the test “inappropriate,” saying it hurts the tribe’s interests.
Warren shot back on Twitter Monday afternoon, saying Trump has a pattern of responding to “women who scare him.”
We all know why @realDonaldTrump makes creepy physical threats about me, right? He’s scared. He’s trying to do what he always does to women who scare him: call us names, attack us personally, shrink us down to feel better about himself. It may soothe his ego – but it won’t work. pic.twitter.com/2rfPSlvlQA
