Updated at 12:36 a.m. on Nov. 7 | The midterms are winding down as Democrats claim control of the House and Republicans maintain control of the Senate. Roll Call’s photographers have been covering the day from Florida to Virginia.
The Florida Senate race appears to be an upset of incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson. The seat will go to Republican Gov. Rick Scott who spoke from his election night party in Naples, Fla.
In Leesburg, Va., Democratic candidate Jennifer Wexton has won her race against Rep. Barbara Comstock. We were with her throughout her Tuesday from voting to visiting the polls to her election night party.
In Coral Gables, Fla., Democratic candidate Donna Shalala and former secretary of Health and Human Services under President Bill Clinton won the 27th District open seat. We were with her and then her GOP opponent, Maria Elvira Salazar, during their campaign stops earlier in the day.
