Popeyes chicken is on the line for Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy in his wager with Alabama Sen. Richard C. Shelby over Saturday’s NCAA football game between Louisiana State University Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

“I am betting as much extra-spicy Popeyes fried chicken as the senator can eat,” Kennedy said Thursday. “Popeyes chicken is among the best fried chicken God ever put breath in.”

Shelby is betting a double serving of Conecuh Sausage made in Evergreen, Alabama.
