Capitol Lens: Inside the Hawk ’n’ Dove

Tom dropped by the Hawk ’n’ Dove on Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast to witness the gutting of the Capitol Hill watering hole Monday, a little more than a week after much of its old decor was put up for auction. The new owner has said he wants to maintain the bar’s saloon feel, but judging from the appearance of the main bar area (above), a major renovation is under way. So far, the bumper stickers on the bar’s wall (right) have been preserved.
