Army Expands Citizenship Fast Track Program

The New York Times : “The Army will expand a program offering a fast track to citizenship for immigrants with special language or medical skills. Based on guidance published Friday, the program, Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (Mavni), will increase to 3,000 enlistments this fiscal year and 5,000 in the 2016 fiscal year, up from the current limit of 1,500.”  

“In September, the program also was opened to young undocumented immigrants with deportation deferrals under a 2012 initiative by President Obama.”
