Sen. Bernie Sanders got the attention of the internet for retweeting a Cardi B quote about improving Social Security.

Sanders endorsed the rapper’s statement about former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in which she praised Roosevelt for starting Social Security.

“He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,’ because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security,” Cardi B said in a GQ interview. Her comments were promoted by “Social Security Works,” an organization focused on preserving Social Security.

“Cardi B is right,” Sanders said.

This is not the first time Sen. Bernie Sanders has brought up famous musicians to weigh in on his points. During his 2016 democratic primary campaign, he made multiple appearances with Killer Mike from “Run the Jewels.” He has also retweeted comments from Jay-Z about the war on drugs.

The rapper supported Sanders during his primary campaign, telling people to “vote for daddy Bernie” so Trump wouldn’t become president.

Sanders has been a long time advocate for improving Social Security, welfare, and benefits for elderly people in the United States.
