A conservative super PAC spent $1.5 million on media ads during August pushing to "defund Obamacare." The Senate Conservatives Fund, a Republican-oriented super PAC, reported it had receipts of $1,527,547 and disbursements of $2,104,179 during August, leaving $840,264 cash on hand as of 8/31. For the year, the PAC has raised $3.5 million. Of the $1.5 million in receipts, $1,368,014 was from unitemized contributions of $200 or less. Of the itemized donations, the most came from Texas, California, and Florida. The group spent $1,459,595 on what was listed as "non-candidate issue ads." The group spent $94,942 on telemarketing; $62,295 on direct mail; $51,088 on email list rentals; and $2,500 on online advertising; among other expenditures.
